KSUGGS: The $298 Shoe That Carried My Name

One shoe designer's nod to my styling work.

Not a nickname.

Not a logo.

A retail shoe named KSUGGS — my last name.  — appeared in the market with a $298 price tag.

That is not a casual nod.

No a coincidence.

It felt like a receipt.

That is not a cute inside joke.

That is a printed receipt.

A rare one.

A shoe was named after me.

Not Kim.

Not Kimberly.

Not VSG.

KSUGGS.

My last name.

The name was intentional.

An honor for the work I had done with her.

A visible receipt from the VSG work.

The kind that bridges the private work and

the public proof.

The honor was for the styling work.

The fittings, the pulls, the curated selections,

the placements, the conversations, the eye,

the curating notes, the style language, the

client visibility.the respect in the room — all

of it left evidence.

Before style authority became something

people could simply claim online, there were

moments like this.

A name on a shoe.

A product in retail.

A colleagues acknowledgment made visible.

KSUGGS.

Not borrowed.

Not branded for effect.

Earned.

solid 9 w foot. I am a style expert with years of finding talent. With 100's of fashion shows from around the world behind me, my instincts are refined and spot on point. Therefore, my soles knew immediately that Samanta Joseph, CEO of “Samanta Shoes” was a sister who did the work.

Our first meeting was at a Plus Size fashion show 'Dangerous Curves' during New York Fashion Week. After zipping around town it was refreshing to see gazelles with body.  I was on assignment with Michele Weston, AmaZe  Magazine, Executive Editor to report on our designer friend Richard Metzger runway showing. After show we went backstage for hugs and Bravo's during this intermission I walked the buyer’s area where the "for sale"/ Pre booking  collections were on display. Booth after booth of beautiful and interesting fashion pieces lined the hallways. When I stepped in Samanta’s booth, I stopped dead in my tracks. Shoe designer Samanta Joseph a South American beauty has created a special mold for her shoes which  fashion in form with lots of function was her goal.  Each shoe is first carefully constructed using a special shoe mold that is a hybrid of a flat foot, and a high instep.

This ingenuity provides comfort on both ends of the spectrum, and all areas in between. Great thought is put into the arch support, heel height, and leather lining of each shoe and the styling challenges every other shoe collection on the market. The pricing of her collection leaves lots of room for the public to own many pairs and this season’s collection looks to be her best.

This sister  has succeeded in crafting a shoe collection that understands style is about being comfortable without giving up Fashion. Her shoes definitely had the "It" factor -- that certain something that makes you want to put her shoes on and let them just follow you home. The shoe collection was styled beautifully and the Fit more comfortable in real Leather !

Shameless me -- I have been leading up to my very special honor of being a worthy soul to

have my own Samanta shoe. Samanta shoes are named with the same care that is given when you name a Pet. Your Shiba Inu,"Lucky" is a part of the family, she's soft and playful but will be around for a while. I don't have a pet yet but one name is already taken, let me introduce you to "K Suggs" another one that followed me home.
